ABOUT MAS
The purpose of California's adult education program is to (1) provide all adults in California the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to participate effectively in today's economy and society; and to meet the particular needs of local communities. The Monterey Adult School is committed to provide lifelong educational opportunities and services that address the unique needs of individuals and the communities served by the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. The Monterey Adult School provides the knowledge and skills necessary to participate effectively as citizens, employees, parents, family members, and consumers of goods and services, and leisure time activities. Monterey Adult School is authorized to issue high school diplomas and appropriate certificates. The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Board of Trustees and the California State Department of Education approve all courses.
