Computer Maintenance and Repair / A plus Certification Prep $100.00

Prepare for the CompTIA A plus 2009 Certification Exam series. Food Service Safety – Serv-Safe
If you work in the food service industry, this class will help you apply safe food-handling practices, train other food-handlers, and be aware of the importance of serving food safely to the public. This class satisfies the Monterey County Health Department’s requirements for Health Permit holders. You must purchase an exam sheet and the Serv-Safe Essentials, 5th Edition book, and read them in advance of the class. Available from the M.P.C. The 8-hour class is designed for review only, plus time to take the test. You will become certified if you pass the exam with a 75% or higher test score. The certificate is valid for 5 years.

This hands on Photoshop class will get your Photoshop skills up and running. This class focuses on Layers, Selections and Masking. These three areas are the heart and soul of Photoshop. You will learn digital darkroom techniques. Layout business cards, post cards and posters. Build a basic web site and create simple animations. This is! the best Photoshop class on the Monterey Peninsula. We invite you to sit in on a class and experience a fantastic learning environment.

Prepare yourself for work in the construction industry. This course teaches you construction terms, procedures, use of tools, machinery and safety procedures for various jobs within the residential and commercial trades. With classroom instruction and on-the-job experience, you will learn site layout, concrete work, rough carpentry, sheet metal (heating), finish carpentry & cabinet making, plumbing, floor covering, electrical wiring, brick and block work, dry wall, painting and roofing. Seaside residents may be eligible for tuition waiver. Successful students may be eligible to enter the Carpenters Apprenticeship Program. Women encouraged to join.

An Introduction to Voiceovers
Have you ever wanted to be the voice everyone hears on commercials and documentaries? This fun and interactive class covers details of the industry, the importance of marketing, and of a demo tape. You will be coached and recorded for a personal evaluation. Be warned -- many who have taken this class have gone on to become real, bona-fide professional Voice Actors! This class is taught by a professional voice actor from the voice acting training company, Voices For All.
